Day 1: Dushanbe
This day you will get acquainted with our driver in the airport and direct to Dushanbe. This day you will have a sightseeing tour of the capital. You will discover: Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. Then you will have a chance to walk in National park where you will make photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world - 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. This day you will also visit Central Museum where are located interesting expositions. And then explore Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. Today you can enjoy shopping in the Asian Bazaar, where you can see colorful products and take a lot of photos for memory. You will rest the night in the hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe - Hissor - Dushanbe
After breakfast you will transfer 35 km where you will get to Hissor fortress (VII-XVII centuries). One of the most famous historical buildings in Central Asia, built 2500 years ago. The fortress has the main gate - arch, built in the 16th century by the Emir of Bukhara. At that time, the fortress served as the residence of the Emir of Bukhara. Large staircases and terraces lined with brick led up to the main entrance. The fortress with walls about 1 meter thick consisted of a huge courtyard with a swimming pool and a large garden. Hissor also includes^: the recently restored monuments of "Madrasa I Kuhna" (new school of 16th-17th centuries), mosque; the mausoleum of "Mahdumi Azam" (16th century). You will visit in Dushanbe Botanical garden and Victory Park. This night is in the hotel.
Day 3: Dushanbe - Khujand
Today we will drive to Khujand city. Khujand is located on the left Bank of the Syr Darya river. Winters in the region are light and mild, and summers are hot, but softened by the waters and winds of the Syr Darya. The city has a population of 149 thousand inhabitants. According to historical data, the city was founded around the 7th century BC. The City was besieged by Alexander the great, who gave the settlement the name of Alexandria Eshata and fortified it. The village had a favorable geographical location: the Great Silk Road passed through it. This day you will also explore Cultural Palace and Central Mosque. You will rest the night in the hotel.
Day 4: Khudjand - Istaravshan - Khudjand
After the breakfast you will transfer 100 km to Istaravshan old city. Istaravshan is a Museum city, an ancient center of trade and crafts, one of the oldest cities in Central Asia. In 2002 Istaravshan turned 2,500 years old. The city was founded in the VI century BC by the Achaemenid king Cyrus, who fortified the settlement with three rows of walls and a citadel. In the II-VII centuries BC on the territory of Istaravshan was located the settlement of Mugteppa - the place of residence of the local aristocracy, who built numerous castles with a unique, expressive architecture. In course of the tour you will visit Mugtepa, the fifteenth century Kuk Gumbaz Mosque and local bazaar. This day you will have a chance to stroll in oriental bazaars, discover the mighty fortresses, and explore special architecture of mosques and mausoleums. Then you will drive to Khujand. The night will be in the hotel.
Day 5: Khujand - Penjakent
After breakfast you will be driving to Penjakent via pass Shahriston (3 378 m). Archaeologists have discovered a 5th-century ad settlement near the modern city. A medieval Sogdian city has long been located here. Also near the city were found the ruins of the ancient settlement of Sarazm, known since the 2nd Millennium BC. The settlement was considered a kind of cultural center of all Asia. He had a very high level of construction skills for that time. During the excavations, a temple with a round altar was discovered, as well as residential buildings. The city itself had the same name - Penjakent - and had the proud status of "Central Asian Pompeii". This city had ruler's palace, two temples, markets, rich dwelling houses decorated with numerous paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods. Also tourist can see today the remains of dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and fire worshipers church. You will rest the night in the hotel.
Day 6: Penjakent - Dushanbe
After breakfast you will transfer to Dushanbe through Anzob pass (3 372 m) and tunnel of Isticlol. This day you will be impressed by the fascinating scenery of mountain passes and you will have a chance to take amazing photos. You will spend the night in the hotel.
Day 7: Dushanbe - Airport
In the morning is transfer to airport.
